About this event
An evening lecture programme on assessing and managing temporomandibular disorders in general dental practice, aimed at giving dentists practical guidance on which cases to manage in-house versus refer on.
The evening covers the transition from acute to chronic pain, distinguishing TMD from other causes of orofacial pain, conducting a TMD examination and reaching a diagnosis, the role of physiotherapy and multimodal non-surgical management, and the circumstances in which TMJ surgery is or isn't appropriate.
Presenters include a pain researcher, an oral medicine specialist, a physiotherapist, and an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
